2009 Sustainability Seminars

Program

In 2009, we will be running several workshops at the North Melbourne Library similar to those we organised in 2008 on ‘Ethical Shopping’ and ‘Rainwater tanks and grey water systems’.

With the North & West Melbourne Association [NWMA] we will be running a series of Sustainability Seminars supported by the City of Melbourne, Community Services Grants 2009 to the tune of $5,000. We will be working with the Alternative Technology Association [ATA] to deliver three workshops as follows in order of priority:
  1. Renters & Sustainability
  2. Working together to create 'greener' flats & apartments
  3. Making a 'heritage' home more sustainable

Workshop dates

  • Wednesday 18 March 2009 (7.00pm - 9.30pm) - 'Renters' Guide to Sustainable Living'
  • Wednesday 20 May 2009 (7.00pm - 9.30pm) - 'Working together to create greener flats and apartments'
  • Wednesday 22 July 2009 (7.00pm - 9.30pm) - 'Making a 'heritage' home more sustainable' - NB. This last workshop will now be held over until a later date...

For each workshop, the ATA will research the workshop content, develop a 2 page fact sheet with tips and links, develop a pledge sheet for participants and deliver the workshop. All materials will be available electronically from our website after each workshop.

We are still looking for both individual and business sponsors in order to run the full Sustainability Seminars program.
